This class explores the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theories including Chi, Yin and Yang, Five Elements, Vital Substances, Chinese concepts of Organ systems and the Meridian systems. Students will learn how to apply these theories to perform the Meridian Body Therapy (MBT). In this hands-on seminar, students will learn the basic techniques of Tui Na and Shiatsu. The functions, indications, contraindications and benefits of each meridian is discussed and explained. The students will be shown how to work with some useful acupressure points of each meridian in a session. Students will learn how to work all 14 Channels and how to implement this wonderful therapy into their existing practice. Students will be shown how to work either on the floor on a mat or on a massage table. This work is fun, exciting, and beneficial and can dramatically improve the outcome of their bodywork.
